- Not all flavors and types of drink could be tested, due to the large cost needed to buy them.
- Measuring out one cup of each liquid was not perfect, slightly more or less of a drink was poured each time
- Electrolytes could have lingered on the straw and copper wires, even after they were washed off, possibly increasing the conductance of some drinks.
- Room temperature slightly changed on each day that testing occured
